FAQs
Q1: Why does my hub make a whirring noise that changes pitch when I brake?
A: Braking applies additional axial load to the bearing, which changes the contact pattern between the rollers and raceway. If the bearing has uneven wear, this load change will alter the noise frequency.
Q2: Why does my new hub have a small plastic insert in the center bore?
A: This insert protects the precision-machined center bore surface from scratches and corrosion during shipping and storage. Remove it before installing the axle shaft or brake rotor.
Q3: Can I use a breaker bar to tighten the axle nut to the correct torque?
A: No. A breaker bar does not provide accurate torque measurement. You must use a calibrated torque wrench to achieve the exact specification. Over-torquing or under-torquing will damage the bearing.
