FAQs

Q1: Why does my hub bearing make a noise that gets quieter after driving for a while?

A: As the bearing warms up during driving, the grease inside becomes less viscous and flows more freely. This can temporarily reduce friction and noise, but the underlying damage remains and will worsen over time.

Q2: Why does my new hub have a small foam pad between the ABS sensor and the housing?

A: The foam pad cushions the sensor against vibration and ensures a consistent air gap between the sensor tip and the encoder ring. Do not remove it during installation.

Q3: Can a hub bearing failure cause my vehicle to make a noise that sounds like a worn CV joint?

A: Yes. Both can produce clicking or grinding sounds during turns. However, CV joint noise typically worsens sharply during tight turns, while bearing noise changes more gradually with load transfer.
