FAQs

Q1: Why does my hub bearing make a noise that changes pitch when I accelerate versus coast?

A: Accelerating applies drive torque that loads one side of the bearing internals, while coasting removes that torque and shifts the load to the opposite side. If damage is localized to one contact surface, the noise may appear only during acceleration or only while coasting.

Q2: Why does my new hub have a small plastic sleeve around the wiring harness?

A: The sleeve protects the wire from abrasion against the knuckle or suspension components during installation and throughout the life of the part. Leave it in place when routing the harness.

Q3: Can a hub bearing failure cause my vehicle to make a vibration that is felt in the rearview mirror?

A: Yes. Vibration from a worn bearing can travel through the chassis and body structure, causing the rearview mirror to visibly shake. This is often more noticeable at highway speeds.
