FAQs

Q1: Why does my hub bearing make a humming noise that gets louder when I drive over 60 mph?

A: At higher speeds, any imperfection in the bearing raceway or roller surface is repeated more frequently, amplifying the harmonic frequency of the damage. This creates a louder humming or droning sound that increases proportionally with vehicle speed.

Q2: Why does my new hub have a small plastic protective film on the mounting flange?

A: The film protects the machined mounting surface from scratches and corrosion during shipping. Peel it off before installation to ensure the hub seats flat against the knuckle.

Q3: Can a hub bearing failure cause my vehicle to make a noise that sounds like a failing CV joint?

A: Yes. Both can produce clicking or grinding sounds during turns. To differentiate, check whether the noise occurs during straight-line driving (hub bearing) or only during sharp turns (CV joint).
