FAQs

Q1: Can a bad wheel bearing cause my ABS to activate during normal braking?

A: Yes. If the encoder ring is damaged or dirty, it can send a false signal indicating that one wheel has locked up. The ABS module reacts by pulsing the brakes, even though all wheels are rotating normally.

Q2: Why does my hub assembly have a small zip-tie or clip holding the ABS wire?

A: This clip keeps the wiring harness routed correctly along the knuckle. During installation, make sure the wire follows the factory path and is secured properly. A loose wire can get caught on the rotating axle or suspension components, causing a short circuit.

Q3: Can I install a hub assembly without removing the brake caliper?

A: On most vehicles, no. The caliper and bracket must be removed to access the hub bolts and to safely pull the rotor off. Leaving the caliper hanging by its hose can damage the brake line, so always support it with a wire or bungee cord.
