FAQs
Q1: Can I just replace the bearing inside the hub assembly?
A: No. Modern hub units are factory-assembled as a single sealed unit. Attempting to disassemble them will destroy the precision clearances and seals.
Q2: Is it okay to use an impact wrench to tighten the axle nut?
A: Never. Impact wrenches can easily over-torque the nut and crush the bearing. Always use a calibrated torque wrench to apply the exact manufacturer-specified torque.
Q3: Do I need to replace the ABS sensor if I replace the hub?
A: Not necessarily. If the ABS sensor is functioning perfectly, you can reuse it. The new hub will simply provide a fresh magnetic encoder ring for it to read.
