FAQs

Q1: Why is there a small gap between the ABS sensor and the encoder ring on some hubs?

A: This air gap is by design. The magnetic sensor reads the encoder ring through a precise non-contact gap. If the gap is too large due to debris or damage, the sensor won't read properly and will trigger an ABS fault code.

Q2: Can I install a hub assembly without a torque wrench?

A: You should never attempt this. Hub bolts and axle nuts require exact torque values. Under-torquing leads to a loose hub and bearing failure. Over-torquing crushes the bearing internals. A calibrated torque wrench is mandatory.

Q3: What does it mean if my old hub had blue discoloration on the bearing area?

A: Blue discoloration indicates the bearing overheated. This is typically caused by insufficient lubrication, over-tightening, or prolonged driving with a damaged bearing. Always investigate the root cause before installing the new hub.
