FAQs
Q1: Does the direction of the hub assembly matter during installation?
A: Yes. Hubs are side-specific (Left vs. Right). The ABS sensor wire location and bolt patterns are mirrored. Forcing the wrong side on can damage the wiring or mounting studs.
Q2: Should I apply grease to the wheel studs?
A: No. Wheel studs should be installed dry unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise. Grease can alter the torque values, leading to over-tightening and potential stud stretching.
Q3: How do I know if the bearing noise is actually coming from the hub?
A: A failing hub usually produces a growling or humming noise that gets louder with speed and changes pitch when turning. If the noise stops when you shift weight to that side while turning, the hub is likely the culprit.
